Looking for an electrician's input. Can I crack open a power inverter and wire in a gfci to the a/c output? I'd be silicone the **** out of it, but I want to run a gfci in he trunk

All the gfci outlets I have wired in use the standard three wires you would get off the inverter. Just plug in normally and run the wires into the gfci instead of an appliance. Black is hot and goes to brass colored screw, white is neutral and goes to silver colored terminal and green is ground.
