Default FM Radio issues

Last night my stock '97 XJ country's radio was working nice and everything. This morning i start it and all i get is straight static. Nothing more nothing less. AM radio works fine and is loud and clear. Any recommendations or tips on how to get it fixed?

Look on the passenger side of the car behind the kick panel under the dash. Only a couple of screws and it should pop out. I had the same problem when I bought mine and it wound being a loose connection there. I slipped it back together and wrapped it in electrical tape.

Kick panel or antenna cable ? The antenna cable is basically a piece of coax unless you have something power once you take the panel off it is pretty easy to spot. The kick panel is on the interior door side under the dash.

If you can receive AM and not FM then it's probably the HU.

HU = Head Unit, the stereo/CD player itself.
When my FM went out, it was the spring connection of antenna wire, behind kick panel on passenger side. Just as Cliffy describes.
