Default Rugged ridge front axle disconnect cable diffuculty

So i replaced the vac disco actuator a while back with a rugged ridge cable becouse it worked when it wanted to. now i have the same problem with the cable, i put in 4 and yank the hell out of the **** and drive forward and backwards and MAYBE it will engage, its a real pain. just wondering if someone has a similar issue or should i just put the lockout in.

Doesn't that cable attach to the shift fork via e-clips? If so, maybe one has popped off. Good thing is it doesn't take much to pop off that cover and see.

That's the only thing I can think of. Either that or something wrong with the fork.

On paper the cad system sounds good,But in the real world if you don't use it at least once a month things rust in place.Or you end up wearing the fork out that slides over.

So i found out why it wouldnt shift, the collar was siezed onto the axle, must have rusted a little. I freed it up seems to be working ok for now, i will try to shift it more often to keep it from happening again.

Same thing goes for your hood latch also,I have seen many of them where the cable rusted in place from not being used.
