Default 02 GC air bag light issues

I am hoping that someone can give me suggestions or a solution to this problem. Two weeks ago the airbag light starting coming on and off until it finally stayed on. Saw my mechanic and his checker said the code indicated the right from impact sensor was bad. He replaced it but the light remained on. New code indicated that the control module was generating the code. After some research we found that my car never had the recall fix for the airbag system done which mentioned that the same module needed to be replaced alone with harnesses, other sensors, etc. We felt that the recall service would solve the issue. Had the work done at the dealer (took 1-1/2 days). The service manager said that the airbag light was fixed. However when I picked up the car yesterday the light came back on. Now the error codes are indicating both the front left and right impact sensors are the problem. The airbag light can be reset but comes back on immediately when the car is restarted. The dealer doesn't have an explanation and wants the vehicle back for another day but is telling me that the problem is probably not related to the recall work. Before I take it back can anyone make any suggestions on what can be the problem? Both left and right front impact sensors have been replaced - one by my mechanic before the recall work and one (supposedly) by the dealer when the recall work was done.

Jeep frustrations once again!!!

I would be willing to bet that the harness is chafe through on the right front just under the radiator support causing an open in the harness that triggers the light to come on.

I would take back to the dealership. Has the rear hitch/gas tank recall been taken care of and you received the $100 gift card?

I checked as much of the harness that I could without taking the front end apart. Didn't find anything. I asked the dealer to check all the recalls listed for my GC and was told all that was needed was the one I just had done. Is there a way I can check??

The car goes back to the dealer Wednesday. I will report on what happens.

The PCM runs a diagnostic on all systems on a regular basis and if it finds fault with a system, will set a CEL or warning light. The dealer has a DRB III scan tool that should find the fault. IDK why they can't figure out what's wrong with it. I had the same intermittent airbag light and they found an open circuit to the steering wheel airbag firing squid that required replacing the clockspring. That little problem cost me $650 to fix!

Took the car back to the dealer yesterday where they worked on it for 3+ hours. The tech came out and showed me in the recall bulletin that the original front impact sensors were not compatible with the new components installed last week when the recall work was done. They replaced both sensors and re-did the recall setup. According to them this fixed the problem and the airbag light was no longer on. WRONG!! When I picked up the car the airbag light came on at startup after 4 dings. It did not fix the problem. Now I have to take it back next week and they will go at it again.
