Cool Lock button on Fob too sensitive

On my '16, the button on my key fob is so sensitive it picks up even the slightest touch.....annoying as hell. It beeps reptitively and locking the doors the whole time until I stop touching/holding the fob. I mean so sensitive you merely lay your finger on it or brush across it. What should I do? It's the fob with panic/lock/unlock/remote start.

Do they still make those little plastic snap on covers for fobs? Like the wood grain, carbon fiber, ect

It would make it so the buttons are recessed a bit and not so easy to press

These covers require more pressure to activate the buttons. OTOH they may apply too much pressure without touching the fob....

Try opening fob like you would change battery, might be miss-aligned or debris and reassemble.

Been tempted to open mine up and put clear fingernail polish over the panic button. Dunno how many times I've bent over with the fob in my pocket and set that off.

This post was 4 years ago, so hopefully the poster will see this, but I am having the same issue, not sure what to do, did you figure anything out about it?

I'd look into a silicone keyfob cover, which requires you to press the buttons harder in order to get them to activate, as others have already said. I've heard you can ALSO put something in between the button and the pad beneath it to make it less sensitive, although I'm not sure exactly what that entails. But yes, I DO agree that Stellantis makes their keyfobs too sensitive.

I've seen the little conductive rubber pads come loose. Pop the fob apart and see what's going on.
