KL Cherokee Accessories Timeout
G'Day All,
Ran in to this problem at the Drive-In Movies a few months ago, and we're finally thinking of going again. Hope you are able to help.
I put the push button ignition into "accessories" and run the FM radio to listen to the movie audio. But after 30 or so minutes the accessories time out and the radio turns off! This is particualatly annoying if we are sitting in the back of the jeep and I have to run around to the driver's door to activate the accessories again.
We have the uConnect 8.4 installed. I've tried scrolling through the options and reading the user manual but haven't been able to find any way around the problem.
Is there any way to extend the accessories time out? Either permanently or by performing some action during the 30 minute period?
Sincerely,
Shane.

I had this problem too when camping and in drive in theatres. Not the best work-around but I found that you can put it neutral and keep ignition on indefinitely. Anymore than a few hours and you'll need a charger. When I use my Jeep wifi camping I plug a charger in permanently and run it all day/night. And switch the dash to battery status so I can keep an eye on voltage and try not to let it go below 12.2V.

I believe the accessory timeout is programmable in the U Connect touchscreen 'Settings' menu. I forget where exactly it is (haven't played with the setting in my Grand Cherokee since I first got it and someone put the accessory timeout on a lesser setting than what it was from the factory, so I had to change it back). Hope this helps.
