Default Factory remote starter install

I have purchased a mopar factory remote starter for my 2017 cherokee. Based onn my jeep model, the only thing in the kit is the FOBs, hood latch, and hood latch cable.
I didnt realize I needed a dealer (or repair shop that has the software) to install that has dealerCONNECT and WiTech software.
The question I have is, can I just take it to a dealer for programming of the FOBs or does the hood latch safety switch and wiring need to be installed in order to program the unit.
I dont see how the hood latch wiring is required to program I may be wrong.... feedback appreciated

They will likely not enable the remote start feature without the hood switch installed or it just won't work without the switch installed, as it's a safety feature. Sucks that Chrysler doesn't let you program replacement remotes like some other companies. I think if they force you to go to the dealer for this, it should be free of charge.
