Time for brakes!

My 2018 Cherokee Overland 3.2 is turning 60k this weekend and I decided to tackle the brakes.

The kit I bought (PowerStop CRK7415) did NOT contain the four 'front disc brake caliper springs' even though the brake pads themselves have the holes for them and they were pictured in the video when I purchased the kit.

Should I clean and reuse the OE springs when I do this job, 'find' comparable new springs from the local Autozone, or just forego the springs altogether?

I assume the pads will last longer (and be quieter) with the springs installed but I'm no mechanic...

Thanks for any info!

If the holes are there, I'd just reuse the anti-rattle springs. I did my 2014 not too long ago with the K6541 kit, and it didn't have the springs or even the holes in the pads for them. I also found the pads on both the front and rear to be slightly oversized and needed a slight amount of filing on the edges tabs so they'd go in. Once installed and you do the bedding in procedure, they work very well.

I'll probably reuse the springs then or install these 'new' springs I found at AutoZone so long as they fit well and have some good 'pressure' when installed.

You say the kit you got had no holes in the pads for the springs, so you didn't install anything?

How are they holding up? Notice any noises or unusual wear? Too early to tell?

Been working fine for about 10k miles so far, no noise or wear issues. The kit didn't have new springs or the holes to insert put the old ones. The springs are only there to stop the pads from rattling and (also I understand to prevent the calipers from falling out during the original assembly line), they're way to thin to push the calipers back. The stainless springs at the top and bottom hold the pads pretty well to prevent rattling anyway.
