ESS system
I just purchased a 2015 TrailHawk with the electronic start/stop. Not sure I care for the engine stopping all the time & having to select ESS off after start. Anybody know how to select ESS off permanent ? Thanks

I don't think you can. I'd like the system to be disabled by default, but if I know I'm going to be stationary for a while, to be able to manually enable the system for that one instance.

The button on the center stack with the little "A" with a circle around it will disable the ESS...it will reset after every igniton cycle, if you don't like the ESS, push that button every start, you can turn it back on whenever you'd like as well...

Off by default is the question- Can off by default selected in the EVIC somewhere or can the dealer program off by default

I have a 2014 and don't have this... feature. A co-worker bought a 2015 Trailhawk and asked me if mine does this start/stop thing. I had no clue what he's talking about. What a bizarre feature.
Anyway, he took his into the dealer and was told, despite understandably significant demand, that no--they're not aware of any way to disable this annoying feature. A lot of cars are doing it, too--neighbors just complained to me about their Ford having the same dumb thing.

Just got my 2016 trail hawk. I agree, a toggle would be nice so you didn't have to turn it off every time you start the car. Not a huge deal but just one of those little things.

Just talked to my friend/salesman. When I asked if they could dismantle it he chuckled because a new customer had just dropped back in asking the same question. The answer for us Canucks is a solid no. Not allowed by the EPA Gods.
We just have to wait till someone wants to make a fortune on a plug and play 'fooler' switch.
I have a couple of add ons to my bike that 'fool' the pooter into thinking everything is as the EPA God demands. Just a matter of time.
