Default error codes & multiair actuator

Our 2014 Cherokee with the the 2.4L Tigershark has an intermittent engine problem. It runs smoothly at startup and at lower speeds. Once it hits highway speeds it starts to spit and stumble and runs really rough, and the Check Engine light comes on. Pulling off the road and restarting the car usually fixes the problem.

Our local parts store ran diagnostics and got P1062 and P1067. Text on both talks abut Cylinder 2 Oil Supply Solenoid Valve being either stuck (P1062) or having the Switch On Time Out of Range (P1067). I've looked for an error codes list but can't find one. Can anyone confirm that these descriptions are correct? Anyone know what to do to fix these?

The dealer looked at it today. They've not yet explained why, but their recommendation is to replace the whole MultiAir actuator. That's about a $750 part (dealer pricing) with almost $600 labor and $150 misc - a $1,500 total. Is this likely to fix our error codes? Are there other things that we'd be smart to try first?

Thanks!

That source says the CEL code P1062 is for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep but the description is "A/C Select Circuit Hi". That seems unlikely.
It lists P1067 as being for VW/Audi.
Not very helpful. Are there better CEL code sources out there?

Sorry I tried to help. Even if it was unlikely.

Did you ever get this problem fixed? I'm having a very similar issue with codes P1062 and P1067. I replaced the spark plugs and the ignition coil for cylinder 2 with no help.

Sorry for not posting followup. Unfortunately, we couldn't find an option other than the dealership route. Their story was that the MultiAir is not serviceable or repairable. If one of the actuators fails, the only solution is to replace the whole damn thing. So, about $1,500 later, we have a Jeep that now runs great again. Sigh..

Oh no! Thanks for the reply. So what part did they replace?

Not sure but I think this is it - a used one at about half the price of new.
