The term' haole' is not derogatory, it is anyone not from the Hawaiian islands, mostly from the U.S. mainland. Ohahu is a tough place to live.
Lots of Toyotas since it's close to Japan.

I heard differently. It's derogatory term for white people living in the islands. At least that's what people told me when I was there couple years ago
