Default ZJ rear disc brakes on XJ????

I have a 92 Cherokee with drum brakes on the rear. I also have a 94 Grand Cherokee that's good for parts. My question is, can I use the rear disc brakes off the grand on the cherokee?? Is it a direct bolt-on swap? What other parts would I need in order to complete the swap? Thanks

You dont really need an e brake, but its easy enough to use the zj cables and mod them a bit to fit the xj.

What I would like know or hear is how much better this conversion is for braking power. How much improvement is there compared to the rear drums.

Backing plates and calipers came from a 98 ZJ with a Dana 35. As long as you have a 8.25 or Dana 35, the swap will work. The Dana backing plates have to be opened up a bit for the 8.25, but its not hard. All the bolts align...

Have you looked at the rear axle? 94's dont have discs from factory. Not saying it hasnt been swapped in but they didnt come that way.

I did a couple of months ago & couldn't tell a difference, untill the pads broke in.They are a worthwhile upgrade, especially with oversized tires.

One question I have as I've been researching this lately is that I haven't seen anything said about whether or not it matters that the donor have the d44A or not. Does that matter?
