Quote: Have you looked at the rear axle? 94's dont have discs from factory. Not saying it hasnt been swapped in but they didnt come that way.
Yes i have looked..not sure how that got there if they arent factory, but theyre definitely there..

Quote: What I would like know or hear is how much better this conversion is for braking power. How much improvement is there compared to the rear drums.
For me it isn't so much about braking power as it is reliability and design. I dont know if u know this or not, but drum brakes suck!!! They aren't reliable especially after they have been wet/muddy. It is a constant battle to keep them maintained and adjusted..and as we all know, they are tougher to work on..no brainer to swap them out if it's in your budget...

The Dana 44 & 35 share the same disc brake parts on the ZJ.

Ok. Guess it doesn't narrow the search. Basically a 94-98 zj. Good to go.

My question is are there e break cables that you can buy that fit the conversion? I need my e break to work safely !! I don't want my XJ to take off down a hill after parking lol

I wondered the same thing.

ZJ's also came with 15 in. wheels.

I even test fit a 14 in. wheel on & it did not rub.

Don't forget the porpotioning valve guts & ALL the studs & bolts. The E-brake cables are a SOB to get off without breaking the ears.

I did this swap when I put the dana 44 in the rear. I used the brakes from a 97 zj . I run 15 x 10 wheels and never have a problem. I recommend the swap.
