Quote: a. anything that requires you to relocate your track bar above the axle

b. yes, some don't require drilling. but then you're using stock size tie rod ends. is that really much of an upgrade? up to you

c. reman... not ideal. I'm running a reman Durango. the box itself is holding up decent enough for the low cost of $80. as far as the "Durango upgrade" goes I'm not a fan of mine. if you can find a good price on a reman I say go for it (under $100)
Is there a common name for that setup? Like what kind of kit do I look for? Also, I really know of IRO, FST, and JCR that offers steering setups. Are there better options?

If I'm doing this upgrade, I'll do it right and actually make it better haha.

And I'm kinda leaning towards a reman XJ box. A friend can get me a really nice deal on a stock reman, so why not, right?

WJ conversion is about the best OTK/ crossover steering you can do to a 30 IMO.

Or the teraflex kit which could be cheaper...

Our steering setup can be ran without an over the axle track bar IF your track bar has enough adjustability to move the frame side down enough to match the drag link.

Most importantly you want your tie rod and drag links angles to match; IDEALLY you want your track bar and drag link to be as flat as possible. That's where our over the axle track bar setup comes in.

Really at your lifts heights, I would recommend nothing else but going over the axle on your track bar anyways. I'm sure your frame side TRE binds way before your passenger side is completely flexed out.

Hope this helps.

the problem with your steering isnt the strength. it's the angles. the currie system does nothing to improve those angles so unless you're bending drag links currie isn't the solution (as in the description is says it is meant for a 4" or lower lift)

ideally you want your drag link and track bar to be flat. go out and cycle your suspension and see where it binds up. you want a kit that will make your track bar angle and drag link angle less extreme (and even more ideally, the same length and parallel). if you cannot do some cutting and welding I would talk to someone like Kris or another fabricator to see if they can make you a simpler solution

The trac bar is part of the rough country kit. Im going to upgrade it to one with bigger/stronger ends. So you are saying that my angles need to be changed?

Yes, your angles are pretty freakin steep. How much side to side movement do you get when you push down on the hood or go over a decent road transition at freeway speeds? I wouldnt be surprised if when not moving your jeep lowers when turning the steering wheel to the right, and raises when turning it to the left just because the force is acted on such an angle.

I think you would be really surprised at how well your jeep would handle with over the knuckle, crossover steering.
