Ive been running the stock setup with the ZJ tierod and now, FINALLY, realizing that my lift at 6.5 is in much need of a better steering. I need to keep it around a few hundred. Ive heard JCR is good but reaming is bad cuz it weakens knuckles, heard the Currie Correct is good but still has Y setup, Ive heard the stock setup is fine also and that its not, I hear OTK is good but do not have time or money to put out for knuckle swap. Its not like I go extreme offroading but would like to improve handling on and off road. It has slop in steering and I have that narrowed down to the stock gear box.

Nothing against the currie. I just think at 6.5" lift he needs crossover OTK. and a quality steering box. Not gonna be cheap. But cha gotta pay to play m' fraid.

For people who are afraid to cut and weld, cheap heims, I've seen their tie rods bend, supposedly hard to adjust the drag link but idk..., and don't know how you feel about your sway bar links but they have to be removed and ground off, then you can weaken the knuckles and drill them out to 5/8" with their "upgraded" hardware.

Its not a bad kit. Ive seen it installed in person. Looks beefy. I've got a friend who runs it. He seems to like it.

I was going to ask a similar question. I'm running Rusty's HD tie rod, a Moog drag link, and IRO's double sheer track bar. I'm a little over 6.5''. What's a good steering setup to get? I've seen some kits that don't require reaming and welding. Is that right? I also need a new gear box. Is a stock reman not ideal? I've heard good and bad things about the Durango. And that PCS box looks expensive! haha

my knuckles are drilled and have inserts. I've driven that tie rod up and over a rock. had to high lift the jeep off it. my tie rod now has a slight bend. the knuckles are fine as ever though. they're tough enough

sounds like you don't really know what you're looking for or what you need. you would benefit from some reading

Just go reman. XJ box, don't bother with the Durango IMO.

You can't run OTK with tie rod ends with out drilling or taping knuckles BTW, or at least I don't know of another way.

Just do the WJ conversion lol.

a. anything that requires you to relocate your track bar above the axle

b. yes, some don't require drilling. but then you're using stock size tie rod ends. is that really much of an upgrade? up to you

c. reman... not ideal. I'm running a reman Durango. the box itself is holding up decent enough for the low cost of $80. as far as the "Durango upgrade" goes I'm not a fan of mine. if you can find a good price on a reman I say go for it (under $100)

Fawk reman. Steering boxes. Don't waste your time with them. Yes psc is expensive. But it is a hell of alot better than Chinese crap that wont last 30 days of daily driving.
