Today I went out and played around, and I went to go up a steep hill and I went to put it in 4low and it wouldn't go. I was thinking it was the linkage. Anybody know how to adjust it?

There are adjustments possible. It may be hard to do because rust freezes up the linkage adjuster. I took mine all off, cleaned it up and put it back on. Now it works perfectly after adjusting it. I also made sure the tcase shifter into all positions by hand before hooking it back up. That way, if I had run into problems I would know if it was the case or linkage.

Every oil change I spray all my linkages with lithium greese. ,I guess that is a good idea .she shifts smooth everytime

Ok so I just got the time to look at the linkage, and it's bent! So I've search on the Internet and I can't find a new one. Anyone know where I can't get one ??

Any salvage yards near you? Mine has like 10 XJ's in it. Nice to be close to plenty of parts just in case.

not stronger, just easier to get a clean one and only fight with the bent one. how ever you could save a few bucks if you get a used one
