I found this thread regarding lift installation and have kept it in my favorites for when I'm ready to install my lift. It should give you a good idea of how to get everything out and back in. And I'm pretty sure pulling your tires will make the job much easier.

Most advise against coil spring compressors for safety reasons.

Using a safety rope or chain wouldn't be a bad idea if using them.

Probably going to have to disconnect the swaybar links, lower shock mounts, and spring retainers. Fairly simple and use some pb or similar. Yes remove the tires, be sure to secure the vehicle on jack stands placed just to the rear of the lower control arm mounts so you can droop the axle. Don't stretch the brake hoses though.

X2 may also have to disconnect the track bar.

you won't. I swapped 3" coils in w/o removing the track bar.
I put the Jeep frame on stands and jacked up one side of the axle (disconnected the swaybar) and pulled the coil on the side opposite the Jack. Watch your brakelines to be sure you don't overflex them.

Yes you can rent the comprssors at advanced....I didnt mean like an air compressor....I ment the the coil compressors that go on from the outsite and wrap around a top coil line and a bottom coil line....They look scary but theyre pretty safe Id say....BUT REMEMBER!!! There are like 3 different types...When i went to advanced I went through two different ones that were DEFINTELY not safe before I got the good one. Just ask them

Yesterday i attempted to do the front spacers. Disconnected the shocks, Sway bar, Couldnt get the trac bar tho. it still wouldnt droop far enough to fit the spacers. so i had to put it all back together last night. Tryed agian today with a spring compressor and i coudnt even get it to fit in the coil. really p's me off.
