I just unclipped all the wires too door locks, windows and speakers and remove it all with the door. as for music, i tune the radio to just the back speakers and they are plenty loud enough...just doesn't sound quite as good. Ive thought about putting them under the seats.

When I finish doing mine I plan on putting quick disconnects on all the power stuff in the doors. As for speakers I've been contemplating doing something with the kick panels to put them in

There should already be quick disconnect spade connectors for all connectors in the door.
And if you really want music that sounds good, get an iPod or similar with decent earbuds.

ok i have the solution for speakers and running with no doors... it was the first thing i did to my xj cuz my door speakers were blown and i knew i was gonna be running with no doors. so under your dash the running board that goes all the way across. at both ends there are "vent" type looking things. on some models these were used for tweeters. i got an old set of house speakers that had 3" speakers and 1" tweeters and i put them in where the vents were. it took me about 5 hours to cut and run everything but now all i have to do is lift my door off and run with it. no hasle of disconects or anything. ill find you a picture here in a minute

Please keep trying with that picture, I am very interested. Try photobucket?
I have also seen this:

Goes in the kicker panel in driver and passenger sides. Looks very interesting.
