Valve cover leak / stalling at stops
Hi
I have a 2000 jeep cherokee 4.0l. I just installed a new motor from Golen engines 4.6 motor.
The first problem I had was he used Allen screws to hold down the head, so when I went to put the valve cover on I did not realize that the cover was being pushed to the left and the rockers were rubbing and number 3 cylinder was stuck open. Well after finding that out the hard way I replaced all the head bolts with the proper one's one at a time. Than I bought another valve cover and gasket and reinstalled it. Well 3 gaskets later I still have a oil leak cannot fix it for anything, it just keeps leaking. The motor runs strong but it leaks oil and it is from the cover.
Second problem when you come to a stop the car stalls it seems like the torque converter does not disengage and it kills the motor or sometimes the idle will go up and down.
Not sure where to go from here
Any help would be great.
Thank you, Ron

Oil leaks drive me crazy- try longer cvalve cover bolts those did the trick for me. Not sure why.....
As for the stalling, check your vacuum hoses to the trans if so equipped
