2000 4.0l grand cherokee motor mounts
I recently bought an engine off a wrecker for my 2000 4.0l grand cherokee 4x4. He said its out of a 2000 jeep cherokee. Was told my motor mounts would work but upon closer inspection, that is not the case. Is there any aftermarket mounts for this swap? Or any other options? Im kind of new to these jeeps and any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to CF!
The easiest way to tell if the engine will fit your 2000 WJ is if the oil filter is screwed into the side of the block and it has a coil pack. If it doesn't, it won't fix your motor mounts. They changed the mount locating bosses on the 99-04 4.0s. IDK if they did on the XJs, but I assume they did.
The story behind this is in 99 they changed the motor mount locations in the Grand Cherokee (WJ) to balance the 4.7 V8, SO they had to change the block of the 4.0 so IT would fit! Moving the mounting bosses for the new mounts required the oil filter adapter be moved. They moved the oil filter to screw directly into the block instead of the old adapter. At the same time, the distributor was done away with and a coil pack used instead. I haven't seen the 99-01 Cherokees (XJ) yet so IDK if they are the same or not.
The only other thing I can tell you is there are aftermarket mounts to put a 5.2 V8 in the WJs but IDK if they'd work for a 4.0 or not. Probably not because of that damned oil filter!
You may have to go back to the wrecker and tell him it's not the right engine. Feel free to print out this post and take it with you.
