I just bought a 2000 cherokee sport auto with the 8.25 and up country suspension. I am planning to lift it 4.5 inches and putting 33's I already have on it. Since the up country package already lifts the jeep an inch, will I only see a 3.5 inch difference?
That's a good point. It has 154xxx miles on it. So are you saying that if the suspension was perfect and not sagging then it would be 3.5"? More curious than anything

Depending on the condition of the lift (new vs used) the initial difference may be slightly higher. Some lift kit coils start unusually stiff (higher lift than rated) and soften over time like the OE coils.
Slightly higher than 3.5 or 4.5? I'm getting new zone 4.5 with leaf packs. I'm just wondering if it will actually give me 4.5 inches from where I am now or 3.5 inches because of the upcountry

A 4.5 inch lift is a 4.5 inch lift regardless of if you have upcountry or not. The new lift kit replaces all of the up country components, so it makes no difference
Okay that answers it I guess. I'll be looking at around 3.5-4 inches of lift from where it sits with the upcountry

I think what he means is in terms of the difference. Like let's just say you had a 3 inch lift, then you bought a 4.5 inch lift. You obviously won't end up with a 7.5 inch lift lol like you said it replaces the old components. But you have only gone up 1.5 inches vs. your old lift. If he's already sitting an inch higher with upcountry then he will only see a difference of 3.5 inches but overall it will be a 4.5 inch lift.Originally Posted by dnuccio

So OP if you want a 4.5 inch lift, get that lift. What you have on your Jeep now makes no difference.
