On my 98 I have 3.5 RE short arm lift.

The track bars got wobble in it, not bad on the road though but I know the bushings are bad.

would it be easier to just replace the track bar, I can’t afford to much down time right now if trying to replace bushings gives me trouble.

so can I just go buy a stock size track bar with this lift?

 

Original track bar? I've never replaced that bushing so idk how difficult that would be. Would probably be easier to do the whole bar, plus then you'd have a new TRE on the frame side.

At 3.5" of lift you really should be looking at doing an adjustable TB to keep your axle centered. I've had an IRO bar on my XJ for years and I have no complaints.

 

A stock track bar is not much cheaper than an adjustable and it definitely screws your suspension geometry...get the fight stuff the first time

 

The bushing for the stock track bar is replaceable with poly or rubber, which ever you prefer

 

I would be willing to bet if you did some measuring you will find the axle is off center with the stock pan hard bar.

 

With that amount of lift I would just replace it with an adjustable one. I bought a rough country on amazon for not much more than a stock track bar. If you have a drop pitman arm you will have to get the aftermarket frame side bracket. Keep in mind, to avoid wobble, you need to keep the track bar and pitman arm level, and keep your axle centered.

 

Hey everyone I have a 3.5in tough country ez ride lift on my 2000. It is coils and full leaf lift. I wanted to add another 2 inches to the lift. Can anyone recommend a reliable adjustable track bar, sway bar disconnects, and shocks? I don't know how long the lift has been on. Was already installed when purchased. I do have the paperwork for the lift in my glove box from when he ordered it.

Next week I'll be rebuilding my IRO bar on my XJ. Previous owner had one on with a 4" lift and the thing rattles like there's no tomorrow. I got ahold of IRO and the owner showed me what parts to get in order to rebuild the enduro joint and replace the track bar bushing on the axle side, so I'm going to spend the 17 dollars and go that route rather than buy an new bar. Soooo long story short if you ever need any advice or part numbers feel free to hit me up lol.
