Don't do it unless u make a good heat shield or get the intake out of the engine bay. Gets way to hot in there to make it worth it

Anyone know where to get just the outside piece of the snorkel? I could make that work into something. I just don't want to spend the full price
I moved the filter over to the "cooler" side of the engine bay (away from the exhaust manifold) and that also moves it up near the firewall so it stays dry...in my opinion a better location than putting a cone filter right where the stock airbox was. I used 3" ABS pipe with a 3.5" K&N filter

DubbleJ's, I like your thinking on using the other side of the engine bay.
I'm up in the air about venting the engine bay by hood vents or lifting the rear of the hood. Yours looks good, what vents did you use?

I'd get the Spectre Cowl intake. Cheaper and the air from the cowl has to be better then air up there even with the heat shield http://www.quadratec.com/products/17006_7101_07.htm

Oops, I didn't look at your model year there. Not sure. Airaid says no it won't fit anything older than '91, but I'm not sure what the differences are. You may have to finagle the vacuum hookups or something.

I made my own cowl snorkel has a inline filter similar to the spectre one
