Default TC drop for 4.5" lift

Hey so I just got done with piecing a 4.5" lift together and now there is a pretty good vibration in the drive line, my question is how much a TC drop should be used for the 4.5" lift? I will be installing a real SYE in a month or so but really want to get to driving it and the vibration is to much. Thanks for the help

Grab some washers and the longer bolts. The thickness of a washer or two can make a difference. Likely need 3/4"-1". Cheap, easy, functional temp fix. I still haven't gotten around to a SYE 2 years later currently 5" in the rear sigh. It works though.

Or, remove the rear drive shaft and run front wheel drive in 4-PartTime. But only if you have the short tail-cone at rear of transfer case! The long cone will leak fluid when driving if rear drive shaft is removed.
Providing that the front pinion angle is corrected after lifting jeep.
When I did my Hack-n-tap SYE, used my own front drive shaft on the rear until I could source another drive shaft.
And keep in mind, the stock rear driveshaft operates with different angles (equal at both u-joints) compared to a double cardon.

after a 4" lift on my 98 vibes were so bad i had to do this trick, removed rr ds & drove on the front for 3 weeks until i got the hack & tap done w/ a new rr cv ds. then it was smooth as butter. lowering the tc puts lots of stress on the motor mounts @ that angle.

With a 4-4 1/2" lift an SYE/Driveshaft and Adj. U/LCA's really should be considered a must, the cheapest thing about any lift over 3" are all the extras required. The things people think they can do without or get by with on the cheap.

There are lists shown here that show what items are required for the height of lifts being done. It should show the price of the items required not the highest nor the junk crap either.

I shopped for 6 mo. finding all I needed to go from a 3-4 1/2" of lift for an example a RR SYE for $99 with free shipping. Posted here that was on eBay I spotted very early and jumped on it there were 4 of them and the person that posted about them went back a few hrs. later to get one for himself and they were all gone, I felt bad about that.

Try to do it right the first time it will be cheaper for sure! Post up some photos when you get done like to see it. Good Luck

I just pulled mine off if you're interested in it, only used two months. Had it installed witih my 4.5" lift and didn't have any vib issues. It's Rough Country's t-case drop, cost me $38 new, I'd do $25 shipped/gifted. If you're interested shoot me a PM.

T case drop is such a waste. By some 4 Degree Shims or hack in tap and stock front drive shaft
