Yesterday I noticed that my sway bar link was snapped off. I've been wanting to get disconnects for a while now and I guess this is the motivation I needed haha. I'm running a 3 inch lift and I'm wondering if it's really worth it to spend 150 on jks disconnects or if it's fine to just buy extended links and use cotter pins for a disconnect. I looked around and couldn't find anything. Any advice would be great.

 

My advice, the best quick disconnect for the price would be rough country! Lol, I know, I know its RC but they have a really really nice sway bar link setup that has a nice little bracket to tie your links up out of the way... And at a fraction of the cost of others. Iirc they're in the $50-$60 range.

If I ran a sway bar, I'd use the RC sway bar disco's

if you get all the other parts of your steering/suspension dialed in, you wont need the sway bar and/or its links. on my 98 with a 4.5” lift and 33’s, getting the trackbar ends freshened up, along with new OTK drag link and tie rod, made it so the sway bar is a nice to have item, but not required. my jeep is solid on the highway without the sway bar. even up over 90mph. it would turning a lot less hairy at those speeds with the sway bar, especially in the turns. As soon as i find a new mounting bracket, my sway bar is going back on, since it shiuld help with the handling through turns, as well as help with the wind. i was driving home from Palm Sprngs last night and the winds were crazy. 50-60mph gusts, that would make the jeep change lanes, even while having a deathgrip on the steering wheel. the new ends on the track bar helped a ton with stability in the wind, and im thinking with new bushings/bracket on the sway bar, it will be able to handle the winds a little better, and probably take turns on the mountain toads around here like a sportscar(almost. maybe a big fat square sports car). if i even bother putting it back on.
