Default Swapping out LP front diff options

Yanking the front LP diff out of my 2000 cherokee. I have a CAD from an 89 with 4.11 gears and an 8.8 that I could use, or one out of a 94 with matching gears. I will be using the axles (better joints) and brakes from the 2000 on whichever I use. What I'm curious about is what am I overlooking and which is a better axle to use, or should I forget doing it altogether and live with the LP. Jeep will have 5.5 in lift and never see bigger than a 33" tire, will not be a DD, used for hunting and weekend wheeling stuff but hardly a rock machine, but will see plenty of highway on the way to hunting spots.

I would toss in bigger joints and block off the CAD and run that with the 8.8 rear.

Problem with the LP is that with 5" of lift the driveline angles are not so good from what I hear, and of course the loss of clearance. A lot of work for a hunting rig, but I also wheel it occasionally also, and some of my hunting spots are really more suited for ATV travel so the cherokee needs to be capable.

Its really not a big deal to swap it. If the gear ratios are the same, it shouldnt take more than a couple hours to swap the front.

Ive heard mixed reports on the CAD strength, some say its stronger, some not. I am just swapping in the non CAD, not wanting to mess with the rear just yet. But while its all out I'm doing ball joints and U-joints etc. This is like number 15 on my list of cherokees owned, so yes I'm addicted. But I'm proud to say I only have two at the moment, down from six a couple months ago. Good news is they are all at a friends place, I got him addicted too!
