Default Suspension clunking

Hey all,

So I got a 96 Cherokee lifted 3” on 31s, did the WJ tie rod conversion swap and while I was at it I did ball joints track bar etc. Torqued all suspension components to spec and got an alignment after this was all installed. Within one week i start to get a clunking noise in my front end. Like severe. It’s worse when I’m going slow and it’s not consistent when it comes to steering wheel angle. Any thoughts?

tighten track bar again, also make sure the trackbar bracket is super tight. Did you do the ZJ tie rod upgrade? Grand cherokee from 93-97.

shocks are rough country and they were installed last year so probably crap, ball joint nuts were torqued to spec but I can check again

Should be redoing all the nuts and bolts within about 500 miles. Standard practice on mods like that.

In the past I’ve always been fine with doing any suspension work like this, but what was odd is that it was probably like 2-3 days after the install I got the bad popping. My only commute in my Jeep is less than 15 miles a day

The track bar bolt and flange nut at the axle mount side is pretty much one time use. Mine kept backing off. See if you have any movement there.

Hate to be Captain Obvious here, but as has been mentioned a few times:

Make sure the track bar BRACKET to frame rail bolts are physically tightened. Real tight.
