How do i wire it up?? I got the wiring Harness.. and stereo wiring.. heres some pics

There are 3 ways to connect those wires to the factory harness.
1- cut factory plug and connect with adapter (my first choice if the factory sterio is never to go back in. The attached manual even shows how do to a proper electrical splice/repair)
2- splice together with pinch splice (usually used to put a trailer harness) or a slit along the wire and insert other wire (Very bulky job but can be reversed to factory sterio)
3- find electrical lugs that fit inside the factory plug and crimp them at the end of your sterio adapter. (Can be reversed to factory sterio but proper lugs and crimpers hard to find)

Please don't cut the factory wiring...


The harness you have is for several different vehicles. I much prefer vehicle specific harnesses but what you have will work. The plug you have in your hand in the first picture won't be used.

The loose wires in the first picture need to be spliced to the harness that plugs into the back of the radio.

Match the colors and splice together with either butt connectors or crimp caps. With crimpers...

You need to connect the following wires:

Yellow
Red
Black
Both Greens (One with black tracer, one without)
Both Purples (One with black tracer, one without)
Both Whites (One with black tracer, one without)
Both Greys (One with black tracer, one without)

Don't worry about the rest as they aren't necessary. Cap the ends of the extra wires with crimp caps.

and don't wire it up with it plugged into the Jeep. Go sit on the couch and wire it up.

Ok will do.. what if there is colors that don't match should i just put electrical tape on the tip?

The factory comes with 2 seperate connector. Looks like you just can go wit only splicing the right wires together from the adapters without touching the factory harness. (I didn't notice that the first time I looked at the pictures)

As long as you know what is suppose to come into the new sterio, match the one from the factory harness by using the factory diagram for color coding.

You can use electrical tape on the extra wires but I'd suggest using crimp caps.

100% use some sort of connector on the important wires. Not tape.

It's connecting to both. There's an extra plug for other Chrysler models that won't be used.

I HATE when folks cut the factory plug off... there's no point in that when the proper connector is available.

Is this a joke? This is terrible advice. All three of these options are much harder, and worse, than just using the adapter.

Mine was already cut up so I just ended up splicing it all together

the factory plug doesn't have a ground in either of those two plugs.. there should be either a seperate wire with a female spade terminal on it, or braided strap with a ring terminal on it. that will be your ground. everything else gets wired up color for color .
