It hurts when it comes down to chasing your tail while trying to diagnose an underlying steering problem. Just like my explanation stated.

because they do help for something, but that doesnt mean they are absolutely NECESSARY.

so you think every 4x4 made NEEDS a steering stabilizer to run smooth on the highway? i can give you a decent list of 4x4s that did not come with stabilizers from the factory and can still run smooth at freeway speeds.

it wont hurt it unless you already have problems that the stabilizer is covering up. just replace the necessary parts first and then throw your stabilizer on and you are good to go

Not gonna lie i had stock steering with the dampner on with 5.5" inches of lift i recently upgraded it with a serious steering kit. i was 100% skeptical of everyone saying run without a dampner. (especially since Pennsylvania roads are really bad) the first day i drove it was different but now im used to it and i don't know the difference. if everything is in working order and on there tight it shouldn't need a stabilizer. i occasionally get a little bit of bump steer and a stabilizer might help with that (not sure). but i still don't have one and i probably wont put one on cause its too much work for something i don't need. ill take my 35$ and by something nice for your lady.

I have no doubt you could run without a stabilizer. But I'm sure it would make a difference in handling surely. I would prefer not to just throw parts away because I feel like I can't spend 30 bucks. My opinion don't get butthurt

here's a happy medium. run without one a for a little bit. don't like it put one on and see if its better. your steering wont fall apart. you wont lose control. but it comes down to preference. but happy jeeping ^_^

Default Bad info

I truly don't mean to be contradictory but these guys don't know what they're talking about. A steering stabilizer definitely help with bump steer

I'm pretty sure he figured it out. He had about 7 and a half years to figure it out lol. Necropost...

Anyways, steering stabilizers and front sway bars are a good idea for a Jeep that sees public streets. You never know when you might have to swerve to avoid something.
