I would love to put a set of 20x9 srt8 grand cherokee wheels on my 2001 xj limited. How can I convert my 5x4.5 bolt pattern to a 5x5 bolt pattern... Cheap and easy methods appriciated. or do they make srt8 rims for a ol xj?

 

Welcome to the forum! You will get flack on here for wanting 20's but its your xj so whatever. You will have to use wheel adapters, there are 1.5" thick and change the bolt pattern

To each his own but as said your going to need wheel spacers. Keep in mind using wheel spacers increases the stress on your wheel bearings. That said if your putting 20's on your jeep your not wheeling it anyways so I doubt the stress will really matter.

 

Yes it adds stress but I have 32's with adapters and I'm fine so you will be too

 

Yea, yea I know..... I was gana go mud tires but there ain't much to climb out here on flat long island. Since I commute with it I figured try some different aka " dumb" .. lol

True, I suppose that's why I havnt seen that done yet. however, I did see them on an 02 grand Cherokee and it did look rather nice. Thanks for your tips , and honesty!

Provided you aren't putting a ton of stress on the drivetrain while using the spacers (burnouts, donuts, offroading) you should be fine.

Something to think about is that the bigger your rim the more expensive the tires get.

this is not my thing with this body style... but i would like to see some pics of it. there is an srt8 gc around my house and it is a sweet ride. huh..0-60 in 4.9 sec??? yeah i would love to own one of them too.

maybe you could find an mt tire for it. allbeit low profile... but that woul prolly look pretty cool.lol
