They dont put anymore stress on wheel bearings or ball joints or steering componets any more than bolting on a set of 15x8's with 3.75" backspacing.
OP: A set of adapters that change the bolt pattern and make up for the difference in backspacing/offset are all that you would need to install the wheels.
And to each his own.

They are commander headlights. I've seen a few people cut their header panel and use the commander lights instead of the XJ headlight, headlight door and turn signal. surprisingly its not too far off.

i believe that picture is photoshopped, although i have seen it done they didnt fit that nicely. either way if i was to convert a front clip id go with the cherokee 2500 clip.
as for the 20s, it kills me to see em on an XJ but whatever like ya said your not exactly wheeling the thing in long island. The price difference is something to consider though, for example going against my advice my uncle went with the 20s on his new dodge even though i had advised the 17s like his previous truck, he didnt listen then went he went in to get new tires for it and he was paying about $450 a tire compared to $200 for the same tire he had previously had on his 17s.

A lot of poeple get caught in the bling of nice rims that u only have to buy once. But u will need five to do it right. Those poeple almost never think of the price of the tires and the harsh crappy ride that low pro's give.
Not to mention that if u live in a salted road hell; wich the op does... you will either have to constanly clean them, like daily when salt is present. Or switch back to the stockers in the winter. If ignored the salt will destroy that chrome in a season or maybe 2. Something to think about.
