Default Sliders

Are sliders strong enough to jack up the jeep from? I have a highlift and no where really to jack from, so I want to obtain sliders if it will work.

Well if there strong enough to keep rocks and stuff out of your doors and rockers then I don't see why they would not be strong enough to lift from

Like he said sliders will work, nerf bars won't.

On a related note: Does anyone know what the difference is between the JCR "long arm compatible" and the no long arm sliders? I don't currently have long arms, but I wouldn't mind getting some in the future.

The JCR Long arm compatible sliders are made to fit around Long arms, and will be spaced differently based on what kit you have, so plan on buying a kit and maybe call and ask if they actually make them different based on what kit, they asked me for long arm brand at check out.. I have them on my jeep, LOVE them. they look and perform very well, I have hit them very hard with no bending.

you can also order them to be made with the correct offset for frame stiffeners too...

Yes they should be strong enough, be careful if you put it threw the bar, depending on how close the claw is to the door it may hit the body causing damage, seen it done. (depending on brand too)

If I order some that are compatible with the long arms I plan get, I can still mount them without the long arms? They don't mount to the cross member or anything do they?

mine just went to the frame. you can see they are just in front of the LA bracket. I would believe the Non long arm sliders have a more centered mounting.

That appears to be the la kit that I want. lol. How do you like it? I went ahead and ordered the sliders for it. haha.

Looks like you welded the sliders in as well. Any reason other than peace of mind?

honestly I hate the RC joints, but its works and flexes well. Going to replace them with another brand of joints.

I didn't want to drill the sliders and the welder was already out... so I just burned them in. I don't like the idea of bolting them in when I am going to be beating them hard, but the bolts do work.

Those heim joints you're talking about? What's wrong with them?

The rubber bushings or the johnny joints? They look like they are greaseable.
