Question Roof Rack Advice

Hey, I am currently looking into buying a roof rack for my car(2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport) so that I can put a spare tire on there. My price limit is about 400 dollars and my tires are bfGoodrich 10.5x33 r15.

Don't do it. Roof rack will end your gas mileage, especially with a tire up there.
Ditch the sub & put the spare in the hatch.

I thought that hatch wasn't strong enough to hold a spare? I wouldn't trust it.

I ran a Nates 4x4 Rack. great quality, held allot of stuff, looked awesome, but it took about 3mpg off. I ended up removing it for my DD duties, and putting it on for trail adventures. YOu might look at a yakima basket, or one of the ones you can get at cabelas or walmart

"Ditch the sub and put it IN the hatch." He's saying to put the spare inside, not rear-mounted to the hatch.

Fuel mileage is not a worry. I pack fuel anyways when on the trail.

I dont like roof racks but have been thinking about fabbing one.

fuel, water, 33x12.5 spare, jack, tools front rear drive line.
where the hell's the camping gear go
