Replacing headliner?
Plan on replacing my headliner soon. Curious on some ideas maybe some new fabric. Also what did you use to glue it down if you did it yourself

Any kind of spray adhesive. I think I used Permatex, but don't remember exactly. I ordered the fabric off a guy from eBay. Any from a fabric store would work. Just measure it first.

I used a brush attachment on my shop vac and got all the old crud off of the headliner then used some camo fabric from Joanns and 3M adhesive.

I took mine to an upholstery shop and had them install a new factory matched fabric on headliner and visors. They removed the headliner and visors cleaned the headliner with a brush (very important that all old foam is removed and clean). The headliner on the XJ is very easy to remove and take out the rear after you take loose the trim.
I took it in one morning and dropped it off and picked it up that afternoon, went in paid my bill $89.76 and left. Perfect job and that was a year ago and still great. It matched my old stuff so close you have to tell people that it was replaced.
IMHO anyone would be foolish to try and do it themselves if they can it done for around a $100 or so for a professional job.

Holy **** that's dirt cheap. Average labor rate around here is $80/hr or more. Cheapest quote I got was $225 for the headliner and another $120 for the visors.
I ended up doing the visors and headliner myself for around 70 bucks and a few hours of my time.
