No, use the Renix intake. Use a Renix intake gasket to port-match the HO head to the Renix intake, being careful not to blow through the runners.

why wouldn't you want the higher flowing intake?

The Renix intake will be plug'n'play with his Renix CPU/wiring harnes. Swapping to the HO intake will require modification, adapters, sensor swaps, etc.

yes, it will... but very minor. a lot easier than porting a newer head to match an obsolete intake...

Not necessarily. Port matching is pretty simple, you take your time and do it right, you maybe tie up a day doing a head. After that everything bolts back together and plugs in and the CPU is happy-happy.

Or you can bypass portmatching and run the HO head & intake in a Renix jeep and take weeks (or longer) running down parts to make the conversion and trouble shooting why there's no spark or the engine stalls once you think you have the whole think done.

there's no trouble shooting. You have a total of 4 electronic devices on your intake and throttle body. They work the same way, just different plugs. Swap your plugs in and it's plug and play. With more flow.

Here's a good write up for you.

First of all, acquiring this list of parts is going to take a long time, and money. This alone makes port matching the head easier.

1) H.O. block and head
2) 99+intake manifold and exhaust manifold (may as well go ahead and add this while your at it right?)
3) 94ish Throttle body (see pics for proper attached sensors)(may already have if you buy the right HO engine for the swap)
4) 96 fuel rail and fuel lines (2 door XJ's not needed)(may also already have if you buy the right HO engine)
5) ford 5.0 injectors (may as well also right, plug and play)
6) 96 ZJ power steering pump and bracket (see 99+ intake write ups)
7) 96 throttle cable
8) new belt
9) KEEP renix A/C compressor
10) KEEP alternator
11) 96 throttle cable bracket (mounts on intake)
12) 96 intake hose and box

Second, in the write-up the guy details trouble shooting he had to do, and most likely anyone else will have to do. He ends his 2nd post with asking for what a sensor is because he still can't find it.

Not arguing its all that hard to do, but compared to port matching some intake runners you're talking about a day's work versus several weeks. Even with the better flowing intake, you're still running a Renix CPU that will not utilize it the way the HO's CPU does. Thats a lot of money and work not to gain much power-wise.

Guess I'm just gonna have to disagree with you. And wow if it takes you several weeks to grab these parts from your local pick n pull...

Yeah, thats pretty much what opinions are for.

Hey, not everyone has pick'n'pulls stocked plentiful with jeeps. I know where I'm from jeeps are pretty sparse from all "cash for clunkers" initiatives offered a while back...
