So are 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks. Trailer brakes might help you not stuff the person in front of you, but that trailer will still wag the dog.

I'm just gonna say this, with my jeep when it was stock, I had the rear sway bar removed. I pulled a closed trailer with several hundred pounds of Chevy small block motors and parts in the back down the highway going 75 with no problems. Probably not the best idea lol but just sayin. Still pull loads just as big today with no rear sway bar. Now, I'm sure the rear sway bar helps but it definitely isn't needed.

OK.

I give up.

The factory bar is 15mm, it's worthless, that's why you see no difference. Until you get into the 25-32mm bars, you'll see no improvement.
It's not only about the size but the torsion rating of the bar.

I have an XJ that I have no interest in, if I did, I'd find a bar for it.

I tried to get you people to think out of the box.........back in the box you go.
You do not know until you try, none of you have tried, therefore, you don't know.

Group think.

I see what your sayin here. With a thicker bar, handling would definitely be improved I would think, but the thin factory bar does not do much at all.

I only tow the boat 30 miles in either direction to the lakes. All flat roads so it works and I'm not driving 80 mph. When we go off-shore we tow it with my buddies 1/2 ton.
