Sway Bar issue- new XJ
new to the forum, and just bought a 95 2dr 4L 5spd xj (last night), replaced the rockers and hurculined the lower body line-last night (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3010604 for pix). im going out on some trails tomorrow, and i only have to drive .4mi to the entrance. so i started to take out the sway bars and discovored almost as much rust as the rockers had. if i remove them i will not be able to put them back on, and i dont have the money to buy new parts anymore. if i remove them, will it be street drivable at all? i had an 87 wrangler on 35s, i tried driving it w/o sway bars and there was no way. but this is stock so im asking.

if i were you i wouldnt, removing the swaybars for street driving completely takes away your quick maneuvering. not a good idea if you plan on avoiding accidents. i say wait on removing them until you have enough money to fab up your own quick disconnects.

I have had mine off for quite a while now and I drive on the street a lot. But I also drive really slow.. keeping back from everyone in front of me and always pay attention. Its really not that bad.

well, we went out, and the xj decided it didnt like its flex limitations and broke the connectors for me. so i welded them back together until i can make some quickies. doin alright so far. i only got stuck twice, and unfortunetly i forgot my camera when i went. and out of all the guys taking pix only one got a pic of mine... right before we left! >_< they want to try a harder trail tomorrow, if i go ill make sure i bring my camera.
got another question labeled "tire clearance?"
