Default Rear axle pinon angle

Have a daily driver 2001 cherokee with a 3" lift and 31" tires. Had a 1" tc drop and just installed an SYE yesterday and scrapped the drop kit. Do I need to worry about shimming the rear axle? I haven't been on the highway yet to check for vibrations. I installed the SYE because even with the tc drop I had vibrations when I got to about 85 mph and wanted the extra clearance. Any comments/recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

With an SYE installed the rear pinion should point directly at the t-case output shaft.

Shim the axle as needed.

What's the best way to go about figuring out the angle shim needed? Would you recommend aluminum or steel shims?

Correct me if im wrong but from what your saying the rear pinion should be inline with the drive shaft correct? Then only angle/bend being at the TC?
