Questions about this company's tire carrier
I need to upgrade my rear tire carrier , I only run 255s or 285 for tires I do carry extra gas due to the log distance trips we take.
I found this company http://fessybuilt.com/products/rearb.../xjdouble.html
And I like the looks of their rear tire carrier and duel Jerry can holder can anyone give feed back on his products or just have an opinion on it based on pics from his website...
It would be a lot of help
I'm looking to spend around 800 for a full set up if I can help it.

I used to live 5 minutes away from that guy -- never dealt with him unfortunately but I am sure I would have heard if he did bad work.
Looks really nice from the pics online.
I was going to go with one of these from OffroadArmor down in Colorado Springs, CO

Dude does all sorts of custom fab and he builds his bumpers to order, so you could easily have him mount up whatever you want.
I would highly suggest getting some cutouts for LED reverse lights as adding a spare tire carrier renders the rear window mostly useless.

Thanks for the info I have a full size 285/75r16 mounted on a detour knuckle bone receiver mount to the left of the factory receiver hitch.
I don't have any issues seeing out the back I'd probably add rear lights to the aluminum rack I'm building at the moment.

Can anyone running one give us a review?

Both the spindle on the swing out looks undersized to me.I would wait and save up for a better brand,Some of those cheaper bumper sites have a month or 2 wait time before they even make it.

If you ever plan on going to anything bigger tire wise, you won't have a back window.
I scored a factory tire carrier and it's got a 33" on it right now and I'm using my mirrors instead of my rear window. Just keep that in mind if you are not comfortable just using side mirrors to back up

I would ask how the frame tie-ins work....I can see it comes with nut strips, but I don't get how they tie in exactly since there is no pic of that side. You need allot more support than the 8 bolts at the stock mounting location with all those accessories.

All good points to ask when I talk to him. And or bring up, I'm not concerned with tire size the jeeps never going to see anything bigger than a 255/75 or a 285/75r16 basically a 33/10.50 16
I've done the 1ton on 40s thing in the past (over it).
My jeeps set up for long distance travel with my wife and dog we camp out of it.
I run stock axles 456 gears locked rear 8.25 at 3 inches of lift with mostly ARB accessories
I'm going to add a genright tank in the spring and try to sort out the issues I'm having with fuel economy.
My biggest consern is longevity of the bumper and its ability to handle long stretches of rutted dirt roads at 25-50 mph right now Detours Knuckle bone carrier has taken a beating and does not make a noise ever it's the best carrier I've ever had. And I've owned a Hanson for one of my rubicons.
