Make sure they're all the same circumference?

And, the transmission won't care. The transfer case will.

This ^^^ without question. In fact, I am starting to wonder if a lot of the Steering and DW issues around here might be coming from mismatching. I think even the difference of two very worn on one end with new ones on the other end could cause a problem.

No two brands of the "same size" are actually the same size, there should be an industry standard but there is not, and it is not uncommon to sometimes measure a whole inch difference between brands. Just having one brand on the front and another on the rear might cause problems.

With the quadratrac you should have all four tires be of the same brand, size, and tread pattern. Otherwise you'll possibly have some funky stuff going on.

All three of these answers are right on the mark for you in fact I rotate my tires on my 04 WJ every oil change on it so tire ware is the same all around. I noticed this was also done by the PO of mine from the first oil change at the dealership (a one owner) and ever service done on it.

If you have mismatched or uneven tires on yours I would suggest you buy a new set and rotate often for a long life. BTY my oil changes are 6 mo. or 6,000 mi. which ever comes first usually always the 6 mo.

Yep...Rotation is one of the most important things you can do for any four wheel drive vehicle drive train. As for oil changes...I see you are also wise to the fact that extended oils and oil changes still do not remove the hydrocarbon aggregates and acids normally produced by a internal combustion engine

The object is not extending the life of the oil, the object is to extend the life of the engine. Extended life oils, filters and services are a gimmick...My friend George ran his Toyota Celica to 500,000 miles before it started to smoke and get loose by changing the oil every 5000 miles.

Changing the oil every 3k is a waste of money and oil. Every 5 to 6 thousand miles is just fine.
