Default Powertrax No-Slip Lockers

Anyone have experience with these? My front one ratchets on turns and I've had a mean howl in the back. Mostly when I let off the power. Occasionally it'll even sound like the gears meshing together. The rear locker isn't working either. I'm totally retarded with differentials so there isn't much I can do myself here. All I know so far is that there's no play on the pinion and everything is tight.

If it's howling you either have bad bearings or ring and pinion going out. If the gears were changed at some point they may not have been set up right and knife edged which will cause a howl.

x2 howling is the gear set or bearing for it (ring and pinion)

the click/pop while turning is normal for a lunch box locker. however these are said to be "silent"...

Fantastic... Anyone have an idea for the average price a trans shop is gonna charge for the rear end work? I live smack dab in the middle of bumble f**k nowhere and NONE of the shops told me they did Diff work.

I've got a '98 with a no-slip in the front. The only time mine clicks is on tight turns, otherwise it's silent. I've never had it load-up and pop like other lunch box lockers.

Doubt a trans shop would have a clue but most driveline shops charge around 4-500 including parts.

find a performance shop that knows what you have... most shops wwon't know a damn thing about what you are dealing with... here is a question does your rear diff leak? if it is low on fluid it will howl and i'm sure that won't help the locker. i have a no slip in mine and i forget its there until i'm offroad

It's full. I got a rebuild kit in the mail, I'll put that together and see if anything changes
