No start, started and ran just fine prior to plugs, plug wires cap and rotor.
Will be a long read... please help... This morning went outside before going to work tried to crank my jeep, battery was drained.. had my roommate and friend take me to work. Not sure why battery drained friend got it fired up had it tested battery tested fine.(I'm going to replace it at this point) my accel tune up kit came in. The tst16 to be exact. I came home.... he took it upon himself to start installing... well along the way he mixed up plug wires, but it fired up just ran like garbage. So I went online got the firing order pulled the wires off. Used the firing order. Now It doesn't start. He didn't appear the plugs of course so I removed those and put my coppers back in(they were not supposed to come out) no good.. I tested for spark I have spark. Still wont start and run. Reinstalles the old cap and rotor. Still no start. The fb guys great guy named Dustin helped walk me through things. Pulled the camshaft position sensor to look at the distributor with the vehicle at top dead center. It was off a chunk now I know he didn't remove the distributor. Dustin suggested maybe someone had it wrong and wired it up wrong to run. Well I set the oil pump to 11 slid the distributer using the mount as the pivot point slid it into place and lined it up with the 4.0 mark. Boom everything was aligned. Posted pics on Facebook XJ page guys (Dustin) confirmed ot looked right. Hooked it all back up still no start.. I so smell gas... I have spark so rule out the crankshaft position sensor. No codes dont think he messed up the camshaft position sensor... I'm so disappointed it was starting to run well I was excited. My gas mileage sucked maybe because the distributor was all kinds of screwed up.. please help
Originally the distributor looked like this the Mark's were off but it was worked up in a way that it would run. Now it doesn't do anything.
