So I've just been kind of an observer on the forum for a while and I thought I'd finally post something.
I have a 2001 XJ, my first car (I'm only 16), and I'm just starting to really begin messing with it. Planning a bunch of exciting mods - locking/limited slip diffs, gears, bumpers, roof rack, lighting, etc, but first I have to address the issue of my springs. My rear leafs are inverted and it's making my tires rub over the smallest bumps. I've been looking at different options for replacement packs, and I found these Rancho 1.5in leafs.

I just want a small amount of lift because I'm going to be stuck on stock size tires for quite a while. I'm planning on doing this in combination with some front coil spacers to even it out. They're advertised as only fitting 84-97 XJ's, which is weird because every other lift I've seen has fit all model years. The question and answer section on 4 Wheel Parts includes this:
"Rancho will only confirm that the 1.5 Inch Leaf Spring part number will fit the 1984 thru 1997 XJ. The only difference is the diameter of the center pin and the diameter of the axle tube. In my experience they should fit but you might need to modify the center pin hole on your spring perch."
I was wondering what the difference is that they refer to. I plan on installing this myself, and I have a rather pitiful selection of tools, so I'm wondering what kind of problems this might cause. I couldn't find this information anywhere, but I know you guys can tell me. Thanks in advance for your help!
