Default Motor swap

I am looking at swapping my motor and trans with a new one. Well new to me the motor is the same 4.0 but it's a HO and the trans is a 5 speed. Mine now is an automatic no HO. The donor is a 2wd as well I have a 4wd just wondering if it is worth it the motor and trans run perfect. Is it goin to be a problem going from auto to manual? And can I put my t case on the new trans? Thank you!

What do you mean no HO? if it's 91 or newer, it's HO, even if it doesn't have the badge. if it's 90 and older it's renix

My jeep now is a 90 which means it's a renix. The one with the motor is a 92 which means it's a HO

HO into Renix is easy. I've done three of them and can guide you through the simple stuff you need to do. Do you HAVE to change the trans?

You cant use the 5 spd tranny because its a 2wd and will be longer than a 4wd with no mating surface for a transfer case right?

Never seen a 2wd xj tranny so not sure but I know most things are like this.

if you want to keep 4wd, you have to get a 4wd tranny.

Keep all your wiring. Just look at this as a longblock swap and you'll be reusing your flywheel, dizzy, manifolds and sensors. I've done this three times.
The HO by itself is not magic by any means in comparison to the Renix so why not keep this simple?

there are write ups to switch the sensor connectors over to the ho throttle body so you can run the newer manifold as well. definately stick with the renix engine control system though.

Easier for less money and aggravation if you're looking for more top end performance is to have your throttle body bored to 60mm, which is 2mm bigger than an HO, for $90 exchange from www.strokedjeep.com.
