i think the OX cable is more vulnerable to damage than an air line. you can run that air line however you like, whereas the OX cable has to be free of kinks, has to curve wide out of the diff, etc. that being said, i love my OX and its never let me down. i just didnt want to run OBA.

this would last about an hour MAX...

As I will give the OX props for USA Made and strong, the activation entry is the WORST out there! The cable Sucks. The air activation cylinder is a excessively easy target for being hit very quickly. And the elect activation controller still has to enter the diff cover and be supported due to the activation box.
Air lockers dont fail. The Install fails. Anyone who tells you differently, likely installed it them selfs and ran the air line improperly, or installed the compressor somewhere not recommended.
Get a Zip or ARB air locker. Sleeve all the air line with 3/8" air hose. Mount the compressor in the rear pass side area (if a XJ). And enjoy the best more reliable system, with the least amount of possible clearance issues, and air for your tires when your done wheeling...
Just my professional Differential shop owners opinion...

Thats what people said about the electrac locker. Look up that one. I know 2 people in my close group of wheelers that both had knocked off the actuators, and we fabed up some plating and still would get knocked around. And both sold em and moved on. And likely why Detroit discontinued them.
The o-rings fail.
The clutch gears wear out.
The housings grenade.
Seen all kinds of "Bombproof" Airlocker failures, and yes they were all installed by "Pro's".
For the OP'
There's no perfect locker, they all have there weak points.
I ran an OX and when it worked it did what it was supposed to do. When it didn't.....well it was a boat anchor.
I've seen lunchbox lockers fall apart on the trail....and in the mall parking lot. I've Aussie lockers ratchet from 3 blocks away......
Detroit, Yukon, etc. will all blow-up when you least expect them to.
Ected's will just slip right out of the box....
The only "Locker" that seems to keep on ticking is a full spool, but it has it's drawbacks as well.
Are you really serious on this?

I never said I don't like ZIP or ARB. I sell those all day long. Any differential shop owner should see the simplicity and effectiveness of the new OX system......unless of course you have never installed one and don't know what your talking about.....
Just saying....

The OX cable system has many flaws...pretty sure I did mention that in my original post. They simply have to much resistance to unlock quickly and I would never run an OX that way. The beautiful thing is.... you don't have to.
