I'm getting to that to point where I'm considering lifting my xj. It's a 96 2 door. I want a lift for the thing. I've got ravine wheels with 30x9.5's on it now, at stock height with no problems. I'm confused with what you need for a lift (shackles, springs, leafs) I really don't know. I'm on a budget so however much I want to spend will have to determine the amount of lift. Thanks

since lifting a cherokee is a pretty rare thing, you will be hard pressed to find any info on the subject.
c'mon guy, look around. read up.

Yeah, I always see these things lowered where I live. (Kidding) and your right, I have no reason to make a thread about this when there's 1,000,000 of them. But I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about xjs, but if you don't know about lifting, you might as well know nothing. I just don't know where to start, could, springs, shocks, leafs... I know about all of that, but not in terms of lifting.

New coils, shocks, control arms, look into full leaf springs or add a leaf (although I highly suggest full springs...), track bar, etc.
If you go higher than 3" - 3.5", look into rear driveshaft, slip yoke eliminator, brake lines, etc. If you get 32"+ tires, look into regearing, maybe getting a locker while you're at it.
The list is long and I didnt list a lot of stuff. Make your research, I was like you at first and it took me several months to get all the info down and get what fits my needs.
Keep in mind the higher you go, the more it costs and the more parts you have to change..
