This is Lamin-x from amazon. It’s the amber film that I used.
This is the 6 inch light bar with the film applied.
I’ll get a picture of mine tomorrow, but this is the guy off of Instagram and I thought it looked pretty sweet.
Okay so this is going to be a build on a small light bar in the holes where the normal turn signals are. DISCLAIMER; check your local laws before trying this.
Okay so first off my problem I was having with my Jeep is that at night when I had my headlights and fog lights on, the on coming traffic couldn’t see my turn signals. So instead of just upgrading to LED bulbs I decided that hey maybe a little light bar would look cool.
So my first step was to change the flasher relay so it will work with LED turn signals.
Then I bought 6 inch light bars. I think you can go up to 8 inches. I also bought an amber film to put over in due to where I live the turn signals have to flash amber.
Next I mounted them in the holes where my turn signals used to be. I wired them up by taking out the light bulb so there are just three holes in where the light bulb went. Then I found out which wire was the one that blinked and which one was the ground and connected the light bar to it. In doing this, the parking lights will not work, only the marking lights. I talked to a retired police officer and he said that as long as the marker lights work on the side of the Jeep light up in a steady amber color, then you don’t need the parking lights on the front to work. In conclusion you can then put the frame of the Jeep back on and your done. I did this completely legally, and safely. I also got this idea from a guy off of instagram who put them in the turn signal hole and used them as spot lights. I just thought I’d share this part of the build seeing that I couldn’t find an idea like this anywhere.
