thanks for all the input..seems like evryone is happy with the brackets, i think im going to order a set..long arm is out of the picture..theres no way i can drop that kind of cash, i was just on the debate of longer control arms or brackets but seems like the brackets are a better route

So I guess the question is which one? I've seen almost all of the brands and they all look "beefy". I've run RCX for 2 years.

Haha. I just bought the rocky road ones a couple days ago. They are on backorder though so they said it will be a week and half until they ship-if that affects you decision at all. I would say the best bet is the Rubicon Express brackets. I went with the rocky road though ones because at ~$200 they are significantly less money than the Rubicon Express ones that cost ~$350 with the support brace. So, for me it was between the Rocky road brackets and the RCX brackets, but I just don't like the design of the rcx brackets. The rocky road ones have one solid piece instead of two.

I go mall crawling in my Subaru not my Jeep. Some of us don't rock crawl. We prefer mud, snow and trails.

i have had re drop brkts and long arms. i loved my re drop brkts. i got hung up on them less than my long arms while wheeling.

in my experience, running re short arms with drop brkts flexed just as good as my long arm, which was a true 4-link long arm.

if you look at a pic of most long arm setups compared to the drop brkts, you will notice that the long arms hang lower. they mount further back on the unibody than the drop brkt braces go. i hit them way more than brkts.

only downfall i had with the drop brkts was i kept waisting ca bushings(every 6-8 months). a long arm binds less because of the length of the arms.

I'm not very fond of Rocky Road Outfitters. I bought their fixed lower control arms, and I'm swapping everything out, just got Rustys Adjustable upper and lowers. I've seen the Rocky Road brackets, but I really didn't like the design. I've also read where their sliders have a habit of crushing your rocker panel in anyway. I think I'm gonna get a set of brackets someday, but I'll go with the Rough Country.

What about running adjustables, and leaving them loose to allow for added binding room?

X2....everyone thinks long arms are awesome...they flex alot, but until someone can invent a high clearance long arm, I'll stay with a lower lift and use my short arms. It seems to me that any lift over 4.5" needs drop brackets/long arms. Why not sacrifice the extra inch and bump stop it correctly? I had 33s with a 5.5" on short arms, and I hated the geometry. I dropped it an inch and It made all the difference. I bump stopped it right, and without hacking my fenders to hell, I do not rub at all except for a full turn on the control arms.

i ramped em both at 1100 on an rti ramp at slee offroad. they flexed the same. the numbers said so.

with long arms, my flex joints wouldnt bind. i had limit straps so my coils stopped just before unseating.

with the same limit straps on my drop brkts and short arms, the flex joints were at the end of thier limits.....prob should have had limit straps an inch shorter.
