Exclamation injector swap for a 91 xj?

ive been turning wrenches professionally for some time now and little by little i hear about mods through the grape vine. i just got a 91 xj lareado with the 4.0 high output motor and the injectors are deff on the way out with 225k on them. which injectors do you suggest that have been tried and true as a performance upgrade? some say neons others say ford, im looking for straight forward info. anything would help!

dodge neons have them (forget what year), and a lot of members on here sell them. Check out the for sale section.

yeah there in 2.0 motors i think 95' and up. i got some today and that was the only neons i seen them in. I already have them installed and i can say that after running cleaner and good gas throu them my mpg has gone up along with throttle response. they plug right in and when you do get them save the clips and use alittle motor oil to put them in, makes it alot easier. the part # is 280155703

Would these be a direct swap for a 96 4.0 as well?

Also from a Ford F-150 with the V8 engine. Has 3 sprays instead of one. I had those on my 90 before I sold it. Problem is you have to buy 8 because they go on a vehicle with 8 cylinders...

I read that you will have to modify the fuel rail if you want to use the ford injectors.

Where did you read that? I only ask because I remember it being a pretty clean install.

Super easy install. No rail change needed to upgrade injectors.
