Anyone who served for our country deserves respect. Period. You don't know if he did or not so don't mock him. I was not trying to disrespect anyone, I was simply stating what I thought. I'm just sayin you should start out with a mild lift and some 33" or 35" and work up to however big you plan on goin. If you don't have fabrication skills and or the know how to pull off a project like this then don't do it, start out with what you can handle and go from there.

It's just as much work doing a ram,bronco,k5 right on 40-44's as an XJ ...the frames are stronger and the wheel wells a little bigger ,but they don't accomodate a 40-44 without work to stuff a tire if not lifting a foot or more just like an XJ and axles do bolt in a little easier ,but not on all as usually brackets get re-done ,so not much less work ...you'll find that putting 1-tons and 44's under an XJ the same work as the vehicles you listed as all the same upgrades apply...the XJ actually has advantages over those you listed such as size and weight advantages even on 1-tons and 40+ tires . Personally I don't mind the O.P. question ,as everyone has questions b4 a first build ,and who knows he might just be starting big to me it's no different than a person asking what a good lift for 35's is and what axles to run on them if you got info share it if not why beat the idea down ...not everyone buils for rock crawling ,and I see nothing wrong with lifting for just the cool looks and driving around town factor.
thank you for those of you that thing that anyone that serves our country deserve respect.....and understanding where i am coming from....right now it is sitting on f150 coils and leafs which give it a 5 inch lift and i fit 35s under it just need another inch or 2 to stop the rear tires from rubbing ....i have already taken the front fenders off to give me enuff clearance....but anyways i was stationed at camp lejeune, in jacksonville, north carollina.....and what i have seen when i was in the marines i dont wish on anyone even those people that think that they dont have to give me respect bc i served my country....

Keep in mind the 44s will weigh 141 lbs each plus wheels, axles 700+ so a good bet would be in the 7-8k range if done right with a cage. I'd suggest 2" tube for the cage due to weight as well.
